Master guitarist able to play all guitar-like instruments, singer/songwriter/composer, arranger/producer
and teacher with extensive knowledge of, and experience in, jazz, folk, rock, funk, blues, country and
world music honed over a 40 year professional career.
Tyler Williams is a recent graduate of Fresno State with a Master of Arts in Instrumental Performance where he studied with Dr. Corey Whitehead. Tyler joined the staff at FMAA in
August of 2016, and has steadily been growing his studio there. He has studied and performed music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic eras, as well as the modern 2 th century, including Pop, Rock, Jazz, and even flamenco.
While at Fresno State, Tyler had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with David Tannenbaum, the Chair of the Guitar Department at San Francisco Conservatory of music and Angel “Lito” Romero, the nephew of the legendary Pepe Romero. He has played numerous solo concerts and won First Prize in the 2016 Juan Serrano Guitar Competition at Fresno State. Tyler has been teaching beginning and intermediate guitar for over six years now. He lives in his hometown of Clovis, CA, and frequently plays gigs of all types in and around the Fresno/Clovis area.
